10 Amantes Passageiros (Pedro Almodóvar)
O filme Vôo dá pinta. Lá em cima junto com Aeroporto 79 no gênero de desastres aéreos. Só o Pedro poderia se safar com um acidente de avião divertidamente falso, ainda assustadoramente bonito e não explodir o orçamento por mostra-lo.

9 Blackfish – Fúria Animal (Gabriela Cowperthwaite)
Um documentário sobre baleias no estilo filme snuff (com cenas de assassinatos reais) que vai fazer você torcer para o mamífero assassino sequestrado e desejar que ele tivesse comido vivo os donos malvados do Sea World.

8 Blue Jasmine (Woody Allen)
Meu amigo da Bay Area resume melhor: “Nós amamos o filme aqui. Apenas Woody Allen poderia fazer San Francisco feia.”

7 Além das Montanhas (Cristian Mungiu)
Se você pensou que Mother Joan of the Angels foi o melhor filme católico de arte sobre exorcismo, pense novamente. A jovem supostamente demonizada não está possuída – ela só quer ser uma lésbica!

6 Hannah Arendt (Margarethe von Trotta)
Finalmente, um filme biográfico sobre uma escritora inteligente. Barbara Sukowa dá uma performance fenomenal como a personagem-título, que causou uma tempestade de merda quando ela encontrou sua própria liberdade intelectual judia, vindo a compreender a “banalidade do mal” no julgamento de Adolf Eichmann.

5 After Tiller (Martha Shane and Lana Wilson)
O documentário corajoso que faz a pergunta: Qual dos quatro médicos que ainda realizam abortos tardios na América você mais gosta? De mim? Eu escolheria o mais “matrona”, de Albuquerque.

4 Hors Satan (Bruno Dumont—DE NOVO!)
A natureza nunca pareceu tão brutal quanto esta história de amor entre um homem santo com problemas mentais que realiza milagres e uma adolescente má da fazenda que espuma pela boca.

3 Abuse of Weakness (Catherine Breillat)
Isabelle Huppert, minha atriz favorita no mundo, interpreta uma diretora louca (baseada em Breillat), que se recupera de uma lesão cerebral maciça por se apaixonar pelo vigarista condenado que ela põe em seu filme. A relação não-sexual e obsessiva dos dois é pura perfeição para assistir, especialmente quando Huppert continua caindo desses sapatos ortopédicos estranhamente glamourosos.

2 Camille Claudel 1915 (Bruno Dumont)
Não teve desde Freaks um emparelhamento tão angustiante de uma estrela (a sensacional Juliette Binoche), com um elenco de atores genuinamente deficientes. Mais uma vez, o grande Dumont prova que ele é o mestre supremo da miséria cinematográfica.

1 Spring Breakers (Harmony Korine)
O melhor filme sexploitation do ano tem as adolescentes que começaram na Disney sensualizando divertidamente, cheirando cocaína e indo para a cadeia em biquínis. O que mais um cinéfilo sério poderia querer?
